Completion and handover of a six-units flat for Teachers
The contractor, Hon Ben Azumah has successfully completed the construction of the six units flat accommodation for teachers which started in 2012 and has officially handed over the completed edifice to the school today Tuesday July 9, 2024. Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony, the Headmaster, Mr Ayabilla Richard Akumbas welcomed the invited guests to the school and said he was elated over the completion of the project. He noted that, discipline would be beefed up if more teachers are accommodated on campus. He commended the MP, Hon Cletus Apul Avoka for the role he played in securing the six-units flat accommodation for teachers and the school fence wall. The Headmaster also praised the contractor for completing the project for the school despite the numerous challenges he faced. He gave the assurance that the edifice would be maintained to serve generations to come.
On his part, the contractor, Hon Ben Azumah gave a brief account of the building and stated that the contract was awarded to him in November,2012 to be completed in two years. He told the gathering that, the project was delayed till today due to financial challenges. He thanked the Headmaster, the MP and the Regional Coordinating Council for their support and diligence towards the construction and completion of the project.
The DCE, Hon Daniel Anania, commended the MP for initiating the project for the school. He also praised the contractor for completing the project for the school despite the financial challenges that he faced. Hon Daniel was full of praise for the school for qualifying for the National Science and Mathematics quiz. He promised to give a facelift to the school football field. On behalf of the District Director of Education, Mr Moro Mohammed thanked the MP and the contractor for the honour done them and the school. He urged management of the school to maintain the facility to last longer.
The MP, Hon Cletus Apul Avoka on his part acknowledged the efforts of the consultant, the Headmaster and the contractor towards the construction and completion of the building. He noted that the initiative to build the six units flat accommodation for teachers and the fence wall was in response to the school's request for solutions to the pressing challenges particularly lack of accommodation for teachers and encroachment of the school's land. He disclosed that he contacted Get fund for the construction of the six units flat accommodation and the fence wall which all started in 2012. He commended the management and staff for the improved performance of the students and urged them to develop the culture of maintenance for the facilities in the school. Subsequently, the keys to the six units flat and the keys to the security Post at the entrance were handed over to Management by the GES representative
